Project: McCook Reservoir Sediment Removal
Scope: Removal and disposal of 56,000 cubic yards (CY) of sediment
Overall Status
Sediment removal activities at McCook Reservoir are progressing in accordance with the approved work plan. Operations have focused on hydraulic removal of sediment, material handling, and off-site disposal while maintaining compliance with environmental and safety requirements.
Work Completed to Date
- Mobilization of equipment
- Sediment removal operations initiated in designated reservoir zones.
- Approximately 40,000 CY of sediment has been removed to date, representing 71% of the total planned volume.
- Material handling and hauling operations have proceeded without incident.
Current Activities
- Continuous dewatering and transport of dredged material to approved disposal facilities.
- Routine equipment maintenance to sustain production rates.
Schedule Status
The project remains on schedule to complete removal of the full 56,000 CY of sediment within the planned construction window, subject to weather conditions and operational constraints.
Safety and Environmental Compliance
- No recordable safety incidents reported to date.
- Environmental controls are functioning as designed, with no exceedances observed.
- Operations continue to follow site-specific health and safety plans.
Anticipated work for the upcoming winter months.
- Active sediment removal within planned work areas will start back up in March-April 2026.
- Continued to achieve remaining sediment removal quantities.
- Gradual demobilization of equipment upon completion of sediment removal.
- Final site inspections and documentation.
Lane Closures:
No anticipated lane closures and or modifications to existing traffic patterns are taking place over the winter months December (2025)- April (2026)
